Caverly Morgan has been devoted to Zen Awareness Practice for the last fifteen years, during eight of which she lived and trained at a silent Zen Monastery. She is the founder and director of One House of Peace, a nonprofit that began as a small meditation center located in Sacramento, CA. Recently One House of Peace expanded into Portland, OR, where Caverly now maintains her own spiritual practice while offering the gift of practice to others.
Caverly currently teaches workshops throughout the country, including regular workshops in Portland, Sacramento, and Charlottesville, VA. Caverly also sees clients, who wish to bring a practice of consciousness into their lives and/or deepen their spiritual pathway, on an individual basis. Her unique combination of humor and clarity, along with her unwavering commitment to consciousness, provide the foundation for the work of transformation that she practices and offers to the world.
Caverly’s experience as a monk at the Zen Monastery Peace Center informs her work’s focus on being present, aware, and disciplined. Her training with the Center for Self-Teaching has expanded her practice and teaching to include emphasis on the energetic realm.
Caverly's teachings through One House of Peace have been featured on Access Sacramento, Real Life with Jennifer Till, and the Sacramento News and Review. She has been published in ‘Lilipoh:’ Fall, 2011. Along with offering a daily schedule of meditation and twice weekly classes at the original location for One House of Peace, she has facilitated meditation classes in yoga studios, has taught Awareness Practice workshops in college and high school classrooms, health clubs, and in the corporate setting. Currently Caverly is offering a weekly meditation class at Yoga Shala (SE) as well private consultations through Yoga Shala Wellness in Porltand.
Morgan Perry
Morgan Perry has been teaching Pilates for 10 years. Evolving beyond the scope of Pilates, she uses her experience to deconstruct movement and reconnect students with the basic mechanics that have been lost to unhealthy motions of our daily modern lives -- computer use, driving and commuting, and improper exercise.
To augment those methods, she relies on her certification as a massage therapist and her ongoing training as a student osteopath at the Canadian College of Osteopathy.
Morgan is excited to continue evolving with her work at One House of Peace by move further beyond bodywork and movement therapy but into the larger spiritual awareness that comes from exploring the connections between mind and body.

Bashiran Freda Travis is a certified Hatha yoga teacher in the Indra Devi method, teaching in Sacramento since 1980. Further studies include Kundalini and Iyengar yoga, Self Realization Fellowship, Sufism, and various techniques in the healing arts.
She received certification as a massage therapist from Integrative Therapy School of Sacramento in 1988, and is also a healing conductor in the Sufi Healing Order. The art, beauty, and healing of yoga has been a profound influence in Bashiran's life since the age of 19. The sanctuary of One House of Peace provides an opportunity to practice what, Bashiran feels, yoga has to offer: healthy, balanced living, through surrender and remembrance.
"The quiet and reflective atmosphere of One House of Peace provides a perfect place to experience yoga. Conscious breath, movement, and relaxation both stimulate and calm the physical body, as well as balance the whole system, integrating body, mind, and spirit.
The opportunity to practice postures in an environment of sincerity and intention provides the possibility of surrender, to ourselves, to our own natural state of divine beingness. As well, yoga postures create health and vitality to the body, increasing awareness, strength, flexibility, and balance, affecting the muscles, bones, nerves, circulation, and organs."
